Sealink is an innovative supply chain project undertaken by Moyston Fisheries with Icon Global Link Pty Ltd and financial support of the State Government of Victoria. It builds on similar projects undertaken for FCL Interstate Transport and Murray Goulburn Co-Op Limited, refer www.milklink.net
Integrity of high quality seafood product and timely knowledge of quantities throughout Moyston's supply chain is imperative for the continued success of the business. The project concentrated on the Portland, Victoria crayfish product that is largely exported to Asia. It demonstrated a system that can capture and monitor integral information for Moyston and its fresh food partners improving the information flow and integration between the trawler, processor, transport and export customers through:
- Logistical know-how, product handling and packaging,
- Implementation of standards throughout the supply chain
- Data capture/monitoring against these standards.
- Hand held data capture and web based technology.
The key outcomes have been:
- Enhanced Customer and Regulatory Authority (Fisheries) relationships
- Improved price and shelf-life
- Solid platform for new customers
- Efficiencies and improved productivity for all supply chain participants
- Higher quality product
All participants utilise e-commerce to drive costs out of the supply chain, increase communication links, decrease time wastage and provide a platform for growth in the future. The cluster of companies include:

The Sealink project demonstrated that a system can monitor all integral information (Consignment Note, Product Temperature, Food Safety/ Quality Plan, Proof of Delivery, Demand Planning, etc) for Moyston and their fresh food chain partners and allow them to better manage their export markets in Asia.
