ISES® has been designed as a one-stop shop to manage all of your quality systems and lives within your business. It enables your management to manage documentation and reporting requirements in a robust yet dynamic environment. The software solution breathes life into already existing plans as well as providing the building blocks to create new plans from scratch.

CORE BENEFITS

ISES® adds value to your business by:

  • Reducing the cost of non compliance:By breathing life into your risk systems ISES® will reduce rework, downtime, corrective action costs, waste, recalls, injuries, environmental impact, unfavorable financial results and product returns.

  • Reducing the cost of quality:
    • ISES® enables many of the risk management tasks that are usually performed by management to be performed by other staff. This is because ISES® is user friendly and guides the operator through processes. It is therefore possible to estimate the reduction in the cost of quality because of a reduction in the wage rate for administrative tasks. Managers can spend more time adding value to the business.
ISES® also reduces the cost of quality through better organisation of documentation and records for auditing not to mention a significant reduction in time spent on plan creation and modification. From a single input ISES® allows a multitude of filtered reports and plans to be developed for various purposes including:
        • · Operator instructions

        • · Management review

        • · Plan development

        • · Internal and external compliance audits

        • · Customer reviews and audits

        • · Risk registers

        • - Strategic risk reporting
        • - Reducing training and management costs

The ability to customise the system to the exacting needs of the business means that a robust framework is put in place for staff to follow during risks assessment and documentation. This facilitates training in the approach and reduces training costs. At the same time management can be freed up to improve process and reduce non compliance.

FEATURES

  • NET User Interface – The latest user friendly interface for ease of use and navigation.

  • SQL Server – The most robust database for storing business critical data.

  • Strategic Risk Interface – Method for capturing strategic risk from corporate plans and linking operational risks for reporting purposes.

  • Risk Register – Ability to collate all risks for comparisons and reporting.

  • Flow-Charting – An innovative flow-charting tool is available for process mapping. This tool ties directly into other parts of the program (hazard analysis and control tables) to eliminate the need for double entry. Sub flow steps can be added to create multi layer flowcharts. Sections of flowcharts can be copied or duplicated and entire plans can be renumbered at the click of a button.

  • Rich Text Editing – A built in rich text editor means that all documentation can be created and stored in the SQL database which gives consistency to all documentation. Storing documents in an SQL database means that they can be virtually allocated to multiple plans and sites reducing time required to update and distribute.

  • Risk assessment wizards – Each quality system has its own method for determining risk , for example AS/NZS 4360 Risk Management. ISES® has a number of predefined risk matrix that can be chosen or users can develop their own using a simple wizard. This section allows simple and structured entries for hazards, risk analysis, preventative measure, monitoring procedures and corrective actions to provide you with clear and concise tabular reports. This information is then utilised for the production of log sheets and data entry tables to manage all of your records.

  • Decision Trees – Based on the Codex model for determination of control point types the decision tree tool will save your risk management team time in determining control point types. The user can add comments on why decisions were made for each step on the tree. This information is invaluable during audits. Users can create their own decision trees using a simple wizard.

  • Validate Critical Control Points and Critical Limits - Special sections are available for entering validation for hazards or critical limits for example government legislation.

  • Monitoring - The system uses a simple yet powerful tool to automatically generate monitoring log sheets. These are directly linked to the monitoring details already documented in the control tables. The log sheets can be paper based or electronically generated in a hand held device. The data collected can then be entered back into the system for data management purposes (i.e. reporting analysis, graphical data representation, and exception reporting).

  • Audit – Total audit management is available including audit scheduling, template creation, report writing, raising and managing corrective actions.

  • Critical Issues Register - Critical issues that arise in the business can be logged and monitored for compliance in a simple register. Linked to the process.

  • Document Control – Users can import external documents including Word, PDF, XLS.

  • Plan Duplication - Many processes are similar. Use the duplicate plan feature to copy components of or an entire existing plan, and then with a few editorial changes, the new plan is complete. This is especially useful for multi-site applications.

  • Merge Fields – Merge fields can be added into documentation that is intended for multiple sites. Forms can be created that collect the merge field data at a site and then during viewing or printing of a plan the site specific data can be merged into the documents.

  • PDF Writer – a PDF writer is included for export of any report to PDF file format.

  • Export – Any section or plan can be exported to the file system and then emailed to any other site running ISES®.

  • General Reports – All reports are automatically formatted and document control is added by document. Each repot can be filtered by risk system, control point type, step or process.

  • Progress Reports – Sophisticated plan development status reports can be generated which produce hyperlinks that can be followed to complete sections of the plan that are unfinished.

  • Print An Entire Plan - A unique feature of ISES® is its ability to dynamically collate an entire plan at once. Using this feature, the system will extract the current data based on pre defined filters and print a main cover page, table of contents and all associated documents.

  • Operating Instructions - Each employee in the company can also have a manual created for them which is tailored to the specific tasks which they perform. This provides a uniform view of the tasks that a person has to fulfill to minimise risk in the business.

  • Life Cycle analysis – Supply chain life cycle analysis reports can be produced.

  • Pre requisite Programs – Preferred Supplier, Customer complaints, Corrective Action. All based on sophisticated database pivot tables allowing users to customise report output. All can be linked back to process.

  • Training – Web based flash training is available

  • Standard Operating Procedures – A totally customisable standard operating procedures module allows users to develop procedures for any standard

  • Business Continuity - Having all of your risk documentation together in a robust SQL database means that your business is more secure and documents are less likely to go missing and can be more easily kept up to date.

  • Multi User – Robuste multi User environnent.

  • Password Protected – The system comes standard with two levels of password protection for users and administrators.

  • Fully Net-workable - The system has been designed to operate as a stand-alone system or a network version. The network version is simple to set-up using our own network attachment option.

  • Interfacing - ISES® can be interfaced with other software and systems on request, providing for greater efficiency, reliability, thus minimising potential for human error.

WHAT IS A RISK?

As experienced business managers and business management consultants we are constantly asked “How on earth can managers get on with doing their job when they have all these extra risks to manage?”

The answer is simple and often overlooked! It’s the missing link between doing a job and achieving the business objectives. Firstly however, you need to answer one simple question. What is your organizations corporate definition of risk?

The realisation by the Board, CEO, Manager or Employee that any circumstance preventing the business realising its VISION is in fact a RISK to the success of the business, is a simple way of describing how the expectations of the business and the role of a modern manger has changed.

So the simple answer is this – Managers now have an opportunity to save money and increase stakeholder satisfacion for the company by managing risks which in turn reduce costs. The cost savings can then be used to provide resources to manage the day to day activities within the business.

For management to achieve this state of risk management the Board and CEO must allow their managers to work on the business and not in the business, i.e. on the business processes and not in the business activity, on the process that delivers outcomes not on the day to day issues!

In practice this necessitates providing effective technology that allows efficient and effective management of risk management systems that tie to business value.

Lets look at a simple example comparing paper based records with electronic records.

Surprisingly these benefits are only the tip of the iceberg compared with the larger potential business benefits from the interfacing between these systems.

Plans linked to standard operating procedures via hazard analysis so that operators have direct access to up to date critical information updated critical information including latest:

  • Product specifications

  • Material safety data sheets

  • Critical limits

  • Customer complaints

Resulting in improved audit compliance and reduced cost of non compliance

Ultimately the greatest business benefit that comes from an integrated standards enforcement system is the linking of every hazard in the business to the value that it adds to the stakeholders in the business.
